Here are a few questions we are frequently asked.

  • See our packages on the Wedding Page!

  • Here at William Allen Farm we see budgets of all sizes.

Generally Speaking your budget should be no lower than $50,000. We have weddings here that range in price from $50k-$200k and everything in between. Of course if your budget is higher, that also works.

  • The barn can seat up to 170 guests for dinner.

  • Tables and chairs must be rented.

We have a few tables on site which are used for displays, not seating. We can show them to you during your tour.

  • Yes! We have beautiful indoor restroom facilities with hot and cold running water for you and your guests!

  • See the package information on the Wedding Page.

  • We very much encourage our clients to choose from our preferred vendor list for the catering and bar service. They have all worked at the barn and are excellent at what they do and are ready to provide a stress free event for you and your guests.

If you are interested in using a catering company or bar service not on our preferred vendor list you will need prior approval from the William Allen Farm. All other rentals and services are left to the discretion of our couples.

  • Yes, you may purchase your own beverages for the event. However, you must hire a bar service with General Liability Insurance which must be provided to William Allen Farm to serve at your event. You will also be required to purchase Host Liquor Liability Insurance for not less than $1,000,000 naming William Allen Farm as additional insured as part of your Special Event Liability Insurance policy. (This will cost you around $200)

    We do not allow BYOB.

  • Yes, we do require our couples to purchase Special Event Liability Insurance for no less than $1,000,000 naming William Allen Farm as additional insured. Your Special Event Liability Insurance policy may be attached to a homeowners or renters policy or you may purchase a stand-alone policy.

The policy should cost approximately $200.

  • There is a difference between a Wedding Planner and a Day of Coordinator. A Wedding Planner is not required, however, regardless of which package you choose you are required to hire a professional Day of Coordinator.

In our Concierge Package we will provide you with a trusted Day of Coordinator.

The Day of Coordinator can either make or break your event, so hiring one who understands what their job is, is extremely important.

  • Yes, with Packages 2 and 3! Please remember the catering and bartending must be licensed and insured. We would be happy to discuss local restaurants as options for your rehearsal dinner as well.

  • Yes! Included with all packages we have a large beautiful bridal suite on-site just steps away from the barn. The bridal suite offers a private bathroom for use by the bridal party during the day while you are getting ready. The suite is relaxing and comfortable offering plenty of space and lighting to have hair and makeup done on site.

  • At this time we cannot offer overnight accommodations.

We are just 10 minutes from downtown Freeport offering a variety of accommodations, dining and shopping. The beautiful coastal town of Brunswick is just 20 minutes from William Allen Farm and Maine’s largest city Portland, is just half an hour south of us. Please refer to our accommodations page for suggestions for your bridal party, family and guests.

  • A tent is not necessary as the barn can accommodate up to 170 guests for dinner. There are specific circumstances in which a tent can be helpful. A tent can offer an alternative plan in case of rain for an outdoor ceremony and cocktail hour. A tent is also helpful in the heat of summer to offer additional shade for an outdoor cocktail hour as well. Couples have also had dinner under the tent with the ceremony and dancing in the barn taking full advantage of the space the property offers.

We can discuss the necessity of a tent for your specific event when you tour our property.

  • Yes! We have a large parking area which can easily fit up to 75 cars. The parking area is away from the barn and grounds so that you do not have a parking lot next to your event yet easily accessible for your guests.

The parking lot also has plenty of space for buses to either park or turn around if you are planning to provide transportation for your guests (which we recommend!)

We also have a few handicap spots right next to the barn for anyone who has accessibility needs.

  • Yes. We provide you with a very simple “punch list” of what is expected for you or whoever you designate to clean up on Sunday. It takes just about 30-90 minutes with a few people helping.

We also offer clean up for you as an “a la carte” option if you prefer not to do it yourself.
